What is a Management Committee?
The Wallum Preschool Management Committee is a volunteer group made up of parents, carers, and community members who support the running of our preschool. The committee plays an important role in helping guide decisions and support the ongoing success of Wallum.

We love hearing from families who may have skills or interests in areas such as business, finance, or education, though no experience is needed at all. There are many ways to be involved, and every contribution, big or small, is greatly appreciated.

As a community-run preschool, we are unable to operate without an active management committee. For this reason, we strongly value and encourage family involvement, as it is essential to the continued operation and wellbeing of our preschool.

Leads meetings, sets the agenda, and acts as the main link between the Committee and the Preschool Director.
Supports the President and steps in when needed.
Handles meeting minutes, correspondence, and the preschool’s calendar of upcoming events.
Oversees budgeting, funding, and financial oversight alongside preschool staff.
Sub-committee members are parents who would like to be involved in supporting the vision and values of the preschool, but who may not be able to commit to a formal management role. The sub-committee works alongside the management committee by offering support, contributing to discussions and decisions, attending meetings, and assisting with fundraising activities throughout the year.

Please Join our committee and become an association member!
We encourage all families to get involved by joining as an association member for a small $5 fee (cash only). This money goes into a shared fund that is reinvested back into the preschool to support resources, experiences, and our community.
